If you’re looking for a good-value 4-star hotel in Desenzano del Garda, Hotel Oliveto is a solid choice. My husband and I stayed there in August 2024 on a bed and breakfast basis, and while it’s not the most luxurious option, we found it comfortable, well-located, and fairly priced compared with other hotels in the area.

Location Hotel Oliveto – Desenzano del Garda,
The hotel is in a convenient spot about a 10-minute walk to both the beach and the centre of Desenzano del Garda. We enjoyed the scenic walk, but for those who prefer not to, there’s a bus stop directly across the road which makes getting around very easy.

Hotel & Facilities Hotel Oliveto – Desenzano del Garda,
The décor could use a refresh, as some parts of the hotel felt a little dated. That said, it’s noticeably cheaper than many of the other 4-star hotels nearby, so you get what you pay for.
The hotel has a small swimming pool, which we only used once since we spent most of our days exploring Lake Garda. In the mornings it wasn’t crowded, though it may get busier later in the day.

Our room was comfortable and had a large balcony, though it was shared with three other rooms. At first this felt a bit odd, but since most guests don’t spend much time in their rooms, it didn’t really matter. We only used it once during our stay.

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, so we can’t comment on lunch or dinner. Breakfast was very good, on par with other 4-star hotels we’ve visited, with plenty of choice to start the day before heading out.
